University of Papua New Guinea Open Campus/College
The University of Papua New Guinea Open Campus/College (UPNGOC) was established in 2004 by the University to replace one of its academic units/departments which was then known as University Adult Matriculation Studies. It the change was supported by the Australian Aid and European Union which constructed its Head Office within the UPNG Waigani main campus and five(5) Regional Open Campuses in Buka, Mt Hagen, Kokopo, NCD and Madang. UPNG Open Campus/College has now expanded its Study Centers 21 provinces around the country. It operates three categories of study centers. First is the Open Campus/Regional Centers. They are more less like regional operational hubs for administration and student enrollment purposes. They have adequate administrative space in terms of lecture rooms, computer lab, and other amenities that can cater for a larger number of student enrollment. Second is the Provincial University Study Centers. They are operated in partnership with Provincial Governments and medium centers in which students have bit less amount of space, amenities and etc . They are located within the provincial capital town for easy access by students and the public. The third type is what is called the Franchise Study Center. This is are located with or supported in partnership with the university of Papua New Guinea Open College and the another host institution which provides student enrollment and support services on behalf of UPNGOC to their respective communities. These operations are often arranged with Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), High Schools and Church Organizations which operate within their respective communities. Location: Right opposite the Madang M0dilon General Hospital
4: Hagen Open Campus
Location: Right in the heart of Hagen town-Opposite BSP, Hagen Branch and share the same gate into Hagen Park Secondary School.
5: NCD Open Campus
Location: Opposite the UPNG Main Campus-formerly Creative Arts Faculty and International Students residence area.

1. Enga University Center (Enga)-Location: at the back of Sir Tei Abal Secondary School within right within town.
2. SHP University Center (SHP)-Location: On the hill across the creek from Aiguru Centre building where Education Resource center is.
3. Morobe University Center (Morobe)-Location-Right beside Lae PNG Power Head office in town

The core function of UPNG Open Campus/College is to manage the programs that are offered by the University of Papua New Guinea through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The students who are studying through ODL are registered under various Degree Programs offered under the three(3) academic faculties or department within UPNG. They are the School of Natural & Physical Sciences (SNPS), School of Business and Public Policy (BPP) formally known as School of Business Administration (SBA) and School of Humanities & Social Sciences (SHSS). Open College, doesn't not have any academic functions over the programs but only manages the administrative and learning support services for the undergraduate students on behalf of the different schools at the UPNG Main campus in Waigani, Port Moresby
